Aldous Huxley -- [...] the dictatorship of the future, I think will be very unlike the dictatorships which we've been familiar with in the immediate past. I mean, take another book prophesying the future, which was a very remarkable book, George Orwell's "1984."
Well, this book was written at the height of the Stalinist regime, and just after the Hitler regime, and there he foresaw a dictatorship using entirely the methods of terror, the methods of physical violence. Now, I think what is going to happen in the future is that dictators will find, as the old saying goes, that you can do everything with bayonets except sit on them!
But, if you want to preserve your power indefinitely, you have to get the consent of the ruled, and this they will do partly by drugs as I foresaw in "Brave New World," partly by these new techniques of propaganda.
They will do it by bypassing the sort of rational side of man and appealing to his subconscious and his deeper emotions, and his physiology even, and so, making him actually love his slavery.
I mean, I think, this is the danger that actually people may be, in some ways, happy under the new regime, but that they will be happy in situations where they oughtn't to be happy.
Aldous Wallace -- Well, let me ask you this. You're talking about a world that could take place within the confines of a totalitarian state. Let's become more immediate, more urgent about it. We believe, anyway, that we live in democracy here in the United States. Do you believe that this Brave New World that you talk about, er...could, let's say in the next quarter century, the next century, could come here to our shores?
Aldous Huxley -- I think it could. I mean, er...that's why I feel it so extremely important here and now, to start thinking about these problems. Not to let ourselves be taken by surprise by the...the new advances in technology. I mean the...for example, in the regard to the use of the...of the drugs.
We know, there is enough evidence now for us to be able, on the basis of this evidence and using certain amount of creative imagination, to foresee the kind of uses which could be made by people of bad will with these things and to attempt to forestall this, and in the same way,
I think with these other methods of propaganda we can foresee and we can do a good deal to forestall. I mean, after all, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.

POLÍTICA NACIONAL - UM CENÁRIO ASSUSTADOR - PODEM DESTRUIR O BRASIL?
Camaleões e as bombas políticas
O ódio ideológico e a violência política são características
extremamente nocivas a qualquer sociedade humana (ou humanoide).
A demagogia irresponsável foi a marca brutal dos últimos governos criando condições para mais um período indefinido de miséria crescente ou, com muita sorte, sustentação de um nível de desenvolvimento que deveria ser apenas um momento de uma escala que parecia radiosa (apesar dos avisos de alguns políticos e especialistas independentes).
A demagogia irresponsável foi a marca brutal dos últimos governos criando condições para mais um período indefinido de miséria crescente ou, com muita sorte, sustentação de um nível de desenvolvimento que deveria ser apenas um momento de uma escala que parecia radiosa (apesar dos avisos de alguns políticos e especialistas independentes).
É bom viver com o maná e passeando pelo deserto cultural,
mas as leis naturais, inclusive na economia, aparecem mais cedo ou tarde.
Desolador é sentir que em momentos de borrascas, tempestades
e tantas dúvidas algumas lideranças oportunistas aproveitem as oportunidades que
aparecem para mostrarem imagens que não tinham até há poucos meses, ao
contrário, eram de bases aliadas fieis. Parece que a sorte do povo é simples
detalhe nas ambições de muita gente poderosa e seus acólitos.
No Brasil o camaleão[1]
é um bichinho que poderia ser o símbolo quase perfeito de muitos políticos,
talvez uma mistura de onça com esse lagartinho mutante. Mudam de cor quando necessário, movimentam-se
para a frente e para trás, colam nos galhos, têm uma língua enorme, boca
desproporcional, um rabo significativo, olhos que se movimentam para todos os
lados. Já a onça, o maior felino brasileiro, é territorialista feroz, predadora
dominante e perigosa.
Lamentavelmente descobrimos “cobras e lagartos” da
personalidade de muitos brasileiros notáveis com a evolução da Operação Lava Jato
e outras assim como percebemos que desperdiçamos muito tempo e dinheiro em
projetos que não eram prioritários. Agora somos reféns de mosquitos, do São
Pedro, do crime organizado etc. e continuamos sem condições de atender nosso
povo como seria necessário, um resgate social urgente e fundamental para a
construção de um futuro digno e responsável. Em tempo, todos têm circos e festas, alguns dispõem
de praias e programas excepcionais para poderem suportar a travessia desse
deserto interminável.
Camaleões ou não estamos em tempos de instabilidade
assustadora e nossos animais políticos se recusam a ponderar possíveis
estragos. Não discutem o essencial como vimos acontecer na Grécia, onde o país
rasteja diante de uma situação praticamente irreversível. Aqui ainda podemos
muito, ou podíamos. O desastre foi imenso e se propagou para muitos estados e
municípios.
Os pacotaços foram a prova inequívoca de que todos os que
governavam sabiam que navegávamos em direção a rochedos...
O pesadelo será o império dos radicais, dos salvadores da Pátria.
Com certeza devemos manifestar de forma contundente nossa revolta, mas tendo
cuidado para que filhos e amigos não se transformem em “buchas de canhão”.
É um jogo pesadíssimo e inevitável diante das
circunstâncias, mas ganhamos novas referências éticas. Precisamos acreditar na
força da mídia mais honesta e do Poder Judiciário, Ministérios Públicos, Auditorias
etc.
Em tempo, uma pergunta, quantas CPIs foram úteis ao Brasil?
Quantas só atrapalharam? Qual é o custo desse teatrinho?

e patas fortes.
Movimenta-se
com lentidão para não ser notado antes do ataque. Para apanhar sua presa,
utiliza a língua que tem uma ponta grudenta. Consegue, com grande velocidade,
estender a língua quase um metro. Sua língua, de ponta pegajosa prende o inseto e este
é comido. Estuda-se esse processo com o auxílio de câmeras de alta velocidade.
Ele se alimenta principalmente de insetos, entre
os quais estão o gafanhoto, a joaninha, o besouro, e
muitos outros.
Os seus
olhos podem ser movidos independentemente para qualquer direção, o que lhe
confere aparência curiosa. Quando um camaleão vê uma presa, pode fixá-la com um
olho e utilizar o outro para verificar se não há predadores nas redondezas. O encéfalo do
camaleão recebe duas imagens separadas, que tem de associar. À medida que se
aproxima da presa, o camaleão fixa nela ambos os olhos para poder fazer
pontaria.
Os olhos são
recobertos por uma pálpebra que deixa livre apenas uma pequena área circular no
centro, que corresponde à íris e a pupila.
Sua pele
possui bastante queratina, o que apresenta uma série de vantagens (em
especial, a resistência). Mas essa característica faz com que o camaleão
precise fazer a "muda" de pele durante seu crescimento (a pele antiga
descama, dando lugar a outra), assim como fazem as serpentes e
outros lagartos.
O Camaleão é
uma espécie rara para algumas pessoas, certas pessoas duvidam da existência

Queremos acreditar, ainda é possível?
Queremos acreditar, ainda é possível?
Nada pior do que a desesperança. Brasileiros em torno dos
setenta anos passaram por muitas etapas de mudanças no Brasil, a maioria delas
frustradas de maneira assustadora. Sempre sonhamos, contudo, com um futuro melhor.
O Brasil parecia melhor. Apesar das loucuras criadas para
“combater a inflação” e outras razões provavelmente menos louváveis a situação
do Brasil ficou melhor entre outros que fizeram a estupidez de gastar muito
mais do que podiam ganhar, ou simplesmente foram vítimas de gângsteres do mundo
financeiro e da jogatina internacional, isso sem falar dos fabricantes e
vendedores de sistemas caríssimos.
Chegamos a ver nosso Presidente Lula debochar dos céticos,
dizendo que tudo seria uma simples marola. Que marola!
No Governo da Presidenta Dilma Rousseff parecia que teríamos
ações enérgicas para neutralizar os equívocos do time lulista e anteriores. A
Presidenta começou bem, mas, quais serão os planos que deve ter criado
intramuros do palácio Alvorada após os trancos de sua “base aliada”?
Ganhar eleições?
Quanto custará para o Brasil a próxima campanha?
A sensação que temos é a de que a favor de lógicas
transversas o governo resolveu dissolver o setor energético, nomear pessoas
inacreditavelmente fora do contexto específico do objetivo de suas novas funções
para ministérios importantes e sair em campanha para garantir minutos de rádio
e TV que, aliás, se transformaram em mina de ouro para as emissoras (Decreto garante dedução do imposto de renda para
emissoras obrigadas a exibir propaganda, 2012) .
A MP 579 [ (As Incoerências da MP 579) , (Costa) , (MP 579 -
MEDIDA PROVISÓRIA Nº 579, DE 11 DE SETEMBRO DE 2012.) ] abriu as porteiras
para a insensatez. Agora o Governo Federal anuncia o alongamento dos
privilégios das montadoras (IPI) e a Petrobras se exaure para pagar contas,
gastando petróleo que não tem e sustentando decisões perigosas para que o
racionamento de energia e a falta de gasolina não criem um vexame. Aliás, falta,
já estamos importando demais. Com certeza deveremos atingir a autossuficiência
na produção de petróleo, mas, para que desperdiçar e poluir?
O Governo Federal se compadece até do Sílvio Santos,
deixando até agora microempresários esperando decisões que lhes apoiem (Cascaes) . Empréstimos
consignados são a mina de ouro para banqueiros falidos e dependentes de idosos (Crédito consignado) . Nesse caso
aplica-se a comparação absurda, mostrando-se os juros estratosféricos de
cartões de crédito e o que se cobra nesses “empréstimos sem riscos para o
emprestador”. Só no Brasil para essa fantasia se manter com os aplausos do
povo...
Produtores vergam sob atrasos brutais de aprimoramento da
infraestrutura (custo Brasil) e a burocracia e uma série de leis mal
regulamentadas desmancham o Brasil; programas sociais dão a sensação de se
apoiarem em bolsas eleitorado; circo para todo mundo se alienar etc., demagogia
e tragédias brasileiras...
Projetos federais que
avançam, quais? Será isso um bom governo?
Pensando no incentivo às montadoras de automóveis imaginamos
o círculo maldoso que se cria. Aumento do consumo de combustíveis, poluição,
exaustão das cidades, afastamento do povo dos sistemas de uso coletivo,
crescimento do consumo de petróleo e finalmente o tombo na Petrobras, afinal,
se os combustíveis tiverem preços adequados a inflação crescerá? Aliás, a
Petrobras amarga os resultados de gestões desastrosas e agora o (O feirão da Petrobras, 2013) . É difícil pagar
contas absurdas em projetos mal feitos...
Nossa Presidenta declarou que fará o diabo para ganhar as
eleições (Temor dos aliados) , será? Nosso sistema
político, uma mistura de parlamentarismo com presidencialismo, um autêntico
Frankenstein com direito a Conde Drácula e outras figuras clássicas dos filmes
de terror é um desastre, mais ainda dividindo forças entre estados criados e
mantidos artificialmente.
A indústria da seca continua forte, até dados de redução da
boiada são brandidos, sem que ninguém explique se os bois morreram nos
matadouros ou de sede...
Somos tremendamente ingênuos ou passivos, até quando
aceitaremos esse teatrão continental (Cascaes, O irredento) ?
